Who is Air Handling Equipment, Inc.?

Team photo 2014Air Handling Equipment, Inc. gets its strength from its people. Owner Kurt Barhorst realized that in order to be profitable and have a clear focus, he would have to bring out the passion in his team. Continually ranking in the top CompAir and LeROI Distributorships, Air Handling Equipment, Inc. has received many awards including the designation as a “Gold Distributorship” by CompAir.

The company was founded in 1977 by Bruce Dunaway as a full-service air compressor provider. In 1989, Doug Barhorst purchased the business and remained President until January 1, 2012, when he sold the business to his son Kurt Barhorst, who remains President today. Throughout the changes in ownership, Air Handling and its team have benefited from many successful years in parts and service growth.

Air Handling expanded the size of its facility in 1997 in a continued effort to provide the highest quality of customer service. The expansion included the addition of a 55-ton press for air end rebuilds, several new offices, and doubling the current floor space for the Service Department. Expansion continued in 2006 with the addition of the Plant 2 Facility, a 6,300 square foot structure housing Air Handling’s used inventory and rental fleet. The growth continued in 2014 when Air Handling opened a location in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Air Handling is proud to distribute process chillers, new and used compressors, rotary screw vacuums, ISO Class 0 options and offers a diesel and electric rental fleet. Services by our Certified Technicians include plumbing and installation, 24-hour emergency service, vibration analysis, ultrasonic leak detection, laser alignment, service of all makes and models, air end rebuilding and data logging.

Each Service Technician has attended and passed their Factory Certification Compressor Skills Test hosted by Gardner Denver. Air Handling boasts over 200 years combined experience in the compressed air industry.
